Following a welcomed Thanksgiving break, the families of students at Waukesha South High School in Wisconsin have plenty to be thankful for following some frightful news: gunshots fired.
After the school’s resource officer was alerted of a student with a handgun on campus, the officer then confronted the seventeen-year-old. The school went into lockdown and a standoff with the gunman ensued.
When the student refused to comply with orders and brandished a firearm, the officer opened fire. The teenager, according to several news outlets, was the only person to sustain any injuries.
In a Tweet from Alderman Don Paul Browne, he alludes to the possibility of another student being injured during the incident, though his sentiment resonates within Wisconsin’s walls and throughout the remainder of the country.
